We at Veon Szu & Kok Thye (George Town) welcome our new intern, Chuah Wan Yong!
Wan Yong is a penultimate year undergraduate student at the Northern University of Malaysia (UUM), studying for a Bachelor of Law with an honours degree (LL.B. Hons). She learned about our firm through the recommendations of her peer, Lau Soo Jia and her senior, TAN B.. Both happen to be former participants of our “Discovering Legal Practice” Internship programme (“DLP Internship Programme”).
We are humbled yet encouraged to note that through our ex-interns’ word-of-mouth recommendation, more and more law students (sometimes even non-law students) see value in applying to join our DLP Internship Programme!
An internship or attachment programme should form an integral part of our legal education. It offers opportunities for students to get their foot in the door, gain some hands-on experience, hone valuable skills, build connections, and explore potential career paths.
As such, we hope Wan Yong can make full use of her one-month internship with us and, to quote her own words, “reinforce her commitment to pursuing ä legal career”!
